About Stray's
A family-owned and run business in the heart of the historic market town of Newark on Trent. Established in 2003 as a small coffee bar, Stray's has grown to become one of Newark's most loved and respected places to eat, drink and be generally merry!
In 2019, we opened our Oakham store, followed in early 2020 with Stamford.
Stray's ethos is about offering the best quality possible at a fair price in an environment and ambience that everyone can enjoy - that includes both customers and staff. Customers become part of the family as they continue with us on our journey - we still enjoy the custom of people who came to us on the day we opened!

One of the elements that makes Stray's unique is our live jazz, provided by the house band, where the bassist is also senior barista and co-founder of Stray's, Mat Short...
We've just updated our menus for Summer/Autumn 2021As part of our ongoing expansion, Kitchen Manager Sonny has revised the daytime menu recently. This is to ensure the offer is as consistent across multiple sites, as it was when we only had one store in Newark. Still making everything on site each day, but with a more modern twist, taking the ongoing trend towards eating more healthily and without dairy and/or animal products.
That said, we still make a mean burger, for the meat eaters amongst you!
